2023 CMR Board Exam Review Course

2023 CMR Board Exam Review Course

Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance

CMR Board Exam Review Course

Meeting Dates Live: 1-2 April 2023

Location – Online/Enduring Material

Format: On Demand – Enduring Material

Activity Description:

It is important for CMR practitioners to have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to prepare patients for CMR studies, select appropriate protocols, conduct CMR studies in a spectrum of scenarios, post-process the images and interpret the results for clinical decision-making. Having this knowledge can ultimately allow the practitioner to pass the newly introduced Certification Board of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CBCMR).

The CMR Certification Examination Preparatory Course organized by SCMR, is intended to align to the objectives for a new physician certification in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) launched by the Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement™ (APCA™).

Purpose/Objective

The Certification Board of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CBCMR) examination assesses candidates on their knowledge and competence in preparing patients for CMR studies, selecting appropriate protocols, conducting CMR studies in a spectrum of scenarios and interpreting the results, and performing post-processing tasks.

Learning Objectives:

After completing the CME activity, the learner will be better prepared to successfully pass the CBCMR Exam, through a better understanding of:

- Selecting and performing appropriate protocols for specific clinical scenarios

- Performing CMR exams

- Interpreting normal and abnormal CMR exams: anatomy, function, and physiology

- Interpreting ischemic and nonischemic heart disease CMR Exams

- Interpreting additional CMR exams including cardiac masses, congenital heart disease, and vascular disease

- Supervising and/or performing post processing tasks.

Designed to Change Statement

This CME activity is designed for learners to demonstrate their competence in applying CMR standards and techniques for clinical practice through successful certification.
